For the second test, called the "Incongruent Test," the names of 15 colors will be printed in a color not denoted by the name. Click on whichever color matches the color the word is written in. (ex: For Red you would click on the purple box)
Was it harder when the color the word was printed in didn't match the word? It should have been! Scientists call this phenomenon the "Stroop Effect." The most common theory to explain the Stroop Effect is that our brains process words faster than they process colors. When the brain recieves this conflicting information, it has to slow down to sort out the problem.
